July 28, 2006 - Australia's two biggest wool brokers, Elders and Landmark, who handle nearly two-thirds of the Australian clip, are going to being offering their clients' wool on Wooltrade, the round-the-clock electronic trading system. Launched four years ago, Wooltrade has become the biggest wool electronic offer board with 16 selling companies and 56 buying companies conducting regular trades. During the 2005 to 2006 season, sales of almost 30,000 bales were achieved from 500,000 bales of wool offered.
Wooltrade complements the auction system and offers wool growers the opportunity to make their wool available 24-hours each day and the system is accessible to wool buyers no matter where they are located.
