2006 ALB Matching Grant Proposals Approved

April 14, 2006 -- The American Lamb Board (ALB) approved six matching grant proposals and is in the process of forwarding the grants to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for review and approval.

The ALB developed the Matching Grant Program to expand their marketing and promotions activities by working collaboratively with industry organizations. The matching grant proposals that were approved include:

  • 9NEWS Colorado Proud Advertising Campaign for Colorado Lamb in Denver, Colo.;
  • Ohio State Fair Food (lamb) Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio;
  • The Trailing of the Sheep in Ketchum, Idaho;
  • Kansas State Fair ?It?s A Wild Ride Baby? in Hope, Kan.;
  • Second Annual Iowa Summer Sheep and Wool Festival in Sibley, Iowa; and
  • Lamb in the Classroom in Northwood, N.D.

Chair Margaret Magruder of Clatskanie, Ore., stated, ?We are excited to collaboratively work with industry partners to leverage our dollars to increase promotional activities for American lamb.?

ALB is a national promotion, research and information organization whose purpose is to strengthen the position of lamb and lamb products in domestic and foreign markets.
