The American Sheep Industry Association was a signatory on a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) thanking her for the crucial support she has provided through the years to the public lands ranching industry. The other signatories included the California Wool Growers Association, the California Cattlemen's Association, the Public Lands Council, the California Farm Bureau Federation and the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

In addition, the letter asked for the senator's help again this year on this issue as federal land managing agencies fail to complete required environmental documentation in a timely manner, thereby putting permits to graze public lands at risk. Feinstein has previously supported legislation ensuring that public-land-dependent grazing operations are not harmed because of the government's inability to complete its necessary documentation.
