In a Federal Register published this morning, the office of the secretary of agriculture announced members appointed to the Advisory Committee on Agriculture Statistics. The 25-member committee has representation across seven categories which cover a broad range of agricultural disciplines and interests.
James Robb (Colo.), center director for the Livestock Marketing Information Center (LMIC), has been appointed in the producer and marketing organization category. LMIC provides economic analysis and projections about issues and conditions concerning the livestock industry and is a cooperative effort between state university extension specialists, U.S. Department of Agriculture economists, industry cooperators and center staff.
?Robb, along with his staff, provide a valuable service to the livestock industry through market information and analysis,? commented Peter Orwick, executive director of the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI). ?We are pleased that people of Robb?s caliber have been selected for this committee and know that the sheep industry will be well served by this appointment.?
ASI, along with other livestock groups, is a participating member with LMIC.
