French trading and topmaking group Dewavrin (ADF) is set to close its famous woolcombing plant at Auchel, in France, this summer.
Production in the future will be centered in ADF?s new mill in Bulgaria, which opened in 2003 and is equipped with the latest machinery. This plant currently combs approximately 7 million to 8 million kg. of top a year. A third shift will soon be introduced, increasing capacity to 12 million kg. a year.
Many of Dewavrin?s clients in Western Europe have moved to Eastern Europe in order to be more competitive on price.
