Miller Named CSREES Acting Associate Administrator

December 2, 2005 -- Larry R. Miller, Ph.D., has agreed to serve as the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES) acting associate administrator, announced Colien Hefferan, CSREES administrator. He became effective in this position on Nov. 27, 2005.
Miller's professional career spans over 36 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and includes many areas in the department. His unique career has given him the opportunity to visit and interact with all of the 1862 land grant institutions, most of the 1890 land grant institutions, several non-land grant institutions, virtually all Agricultural Research Services locations where animal research is conducted and work with numerous federal agencies and national organizations.
Over the past two decades, Miller has accepted dozens of special assignments. He also has extensive experience with multi-state research, program reviews and organizing mini symposia or national planning meetings.
CSREES has begun the recruitment process for a new associate administrator. The vacancy announcement opened on Nov. 17, 2005, and closes Jan. 31, 2006.
