www.hobartwelders.com - Stuck in the middle of a welding project? Faced with a challenge that appears insurmountable? If there were just someone who could share their knowledge, provide encouragement and give advice about how to achieve quality results. Actually, there are thousands of ?someones? ? and they?re available right now through the ?Welding Talk Forum? -- an interactive chat room on the Hobart Welders Web site.

?No matter what time of day or night, Welding Talk Forum is the place to ask questions,? says Dave Anderson, manager of retail sales for Hobart Welders. ?And, if your fellow welders can?t supply the information requested within a day or two, then Hobart?s support staff will move into action as they monitor the chat room. Additionally, if there?s a better solution to a welding challenge, Hobart?s support staff will provide that information.? Seldom, however, does a question go unanswered for 24 hours. Welding Talk Forum has had as many as 70 individuals chatting on-line at one time ? even at 2:30 in the morning. Anderson tells about an individual who went to the Forum asking about welding a hook to a bucket. The gentleman stated that he needed a reply quickly so he could wrap up his project that evening. ?In less than an hour, he had several responses. He finished his project on time, and was happy with the results,? Anderson says.

Welding Talk Forum averages 25 to 35 questions daily and is popular with farmers, do-it-yourselfers, auto body and repair shop technicians and maintenance and repair operators. Questions submitted range from processes, filler metals, welding gases and accessories to how long it should take to weld a particular project or what to know before undertaking a certain project. Depending on the question, replies vary from one or two to as many as 20 or 30 or more. (One individual who wanted information about building a go-cart received 49 replies.) To save individuals time, the recently improved Welding Talk site has three different forums: Welding Products, Welding Processes and Welding Projects. The site also has improved search capabilities and several new tools for enhancing interaction among members. The product area displays features and specifications on all Hobart products, while the Welding 101 section includes helpful tips and a glossary of common welding terms.
