September 9, 2005 -- The Industry Opportunities Taskforce, a committee designed to develop a long-range plan for the future viability of the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI), has been named.
Members to the taskforce include: Burdell Johnson, N.D.; Margaret Soulen Hinson, Idaho; Bill Kuecker, Tenn.; and Bonnie Kline, Colo.
ASI is the trade organization serving the interests of the sheep industry of the United States. As a federation of 42 state sheep producer organizations, ASI provides services for both lamb and wool in the areas of: legislation, animal health, production, research and education, market and industry analysis, resource management and communications.
"I appreciate the dedication and willingness of these individuals to volunteer leadership to this important taskforce effort of planning for funding of key industry services and programs of ASI," stated Burdell Johnson, ASI vice president and taskforce chair.
