QSP Program Extended

August 26, 2005

August 26, 2005 -- The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) was informed by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) that the industry's Quality Samples Program (QSP) has been extended through the end of the year.
QSP funding enables U.S. exporters to provide foreign importers with wool samples. Participants to the ASI program now have three additional months in which to utilize the program.
"Participating in the QSP, has greatly assisted the wool industry in expanding export sales for U.S. wool," stated Rita Kourlis Samuelson, international wool/pelt marketing director for ASI. "It has opened-up markets in countries that did not have a solid understanding of the quality of wool produced by growers in this country."
FAS programs help U.S. agricultural groups promote and increase awareness of their products to potential importers in international markets.
