More Wool Marketing Needed

June 17, 2005

June 17, 2005 -- A survey conducted by the Australian Wool Services of 500 wool growers revealed that 92 percent wanted their levy funds to be spent on marketing wool products.
Managing director of Jemalong Wool, Rowan Woods, said, ?There definitely needs to be more promotion. Producers want more value for their money and a marketing push would be a step in the right direction.?
Survey results also determined that more than 25 percent of the respondents said they wanted their entire levy spent on wool marketing, while 34 percent wanted up to half of the levy directed in that way.
