January 14, 2005 -- The National Sheep Industry Improvement Center (NSIIC) announced in a Federal Register Notice on Thursday that it is accepting nominations for two voting directors? positions on its board of directors for current members whose terms expire Feb. 14, 2005. Both open positions are for members who are active sheep producers.
NSIIC board members manage and oversee the center?s activities. Nominations may only be submitted by national organizations that consist primarily of active sheep producers in the United States and who have as their primary interest the production of sheep in this country.
The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) is asking individuals and state associations interested in submitting a director nomination to contact the ASI office prior to Feb. 14, 2005. The ASI Executive Board will approve the nominations in a late February meeting and will then forward those nominations to USDA before the Feb. 28 deadline.
Linda Campbell, of Virginia, the board chair for the last two years, has served two three-year terms and is not eligible for reappointment. Jeff Siddoway, of Idaho, has just completed his first three-year term and is eligible for one more term to the NSIIC Board.
