Oct. 2003 -- The National Sheep Industry Improvement Center recently announced for the third consecutive year the availability of $300,000 in competitive grants through the Sheep and Goat Industry Grant Initiative (SGIGI).

The program will be run similar to that of last year.
Over the last two years, the NSIIC board of directors has funded 17 proposals. The primary objective of these grants is to fund a diversity of projects that will benefit the U.S. sheep and goat industries at the regional, national or international level.
Information about past recipients and their proposals can be located on the NSIIC Web site at www.nsiic.org, as can forms and all other applicable information.
Completed proposals and other required materials must be received no later than Nov. 17, 2003, by the NSIIC in order to be eligible for consideration by the NSIIC board.
