New Holland?s TJ500 Tractor Stepping Up to Customer Demand

Responding to customer need and demand for more power to pull increasingly larger implements, New Holland is introducing a new 500 hp tractor to its four-wheel drive TJ tractor line.

The new tractor offers power growth of up to 50 hp and a torque rise of 39 percent, allowing it to pull bigger and heavier equipment even in tough conditions.

Though based on the same frame and components as the TJ450, the TJ500 offers more than just more horsepower. The TJ500 operates at 100 rpms faster than the TJ450. It has a larger air induction system, uses larger tires, has improved hydraulics and uses a 24-volt starting system with a 12-volt operating system.

The TV145 model features a new, more efficient cooling system. The grill surface on the hood has been increased by 40 percent to allow for improved cooling. The hydraulic system has been redesigned for improved performance in cold weather operations.

The TJ500 is powered by a fuel-efficient Cummins QSX 15L engine. A 16-speed full powershift transmission allows for smooth shifting and fingertip control. The tractor also features a standard 42-gpm hydraulic pump capacity, integral hydraulic wet disk brakes and a 300-gallon fuel tank.

Like the TJ line, the TJ500 can be equipped with New Holland?s exclusive MegaFlow? hydraulics, which offers up to 90 gpm of hydraulic flow through two independent pump systems.

See-Through Fuel Filters Reducing Engine Repair, Maintenance Costs

With rising operating costs and slimming profit margins, vehicle and equipment operators can reduce engine repair and maintenance expenses by installing D-L? GOLDENROD? fuel filters on fuel transfer lines. Perfect for farms, orchards and industrial applications, the easy-to-use, cost-effective filters remove contaminants such as dirt, rust, scale, water and lint from fuel.

The 496 Water-Block filter can be used by itself or in conjunction with the 495 fuel filter for added assurance in reducing particulate wear on engine surfaces and providing moisture-free fuel to the power plant. The 496 Water-Block fuel filter has a special element containing water-absorbing polymers that provide excellent water trapping capabilities and 15-micron particle filtration. The 496 Water-Block filter is self-signaling for replacement, restricting fuel flow when the element is fully saturated. The 495-fuel filter uses 366 square inches of filter surface to remove microscopic particles as small as 10 microns at 5-gpm gravity flow rate with a 24-inch head.

The 495 and 496 filters both feature easy, inline installation and have zinc die-cast top caps and alcohol resistant bowls that stand up to the toughest applications and extreme weather conditions. They allow working pressures to 150 psi and are available in ?-inch or 1-inch NPT pipefittings.
