Two Approaching Deadlines

September 24, 2004 -- SSQA Training ? Call Nancy Weiss at (970) 491-7604 before Oct. 1 to reserve your space for the Sheep Safety & Quality Assurance (SSQA) program, which will be held in Fort Collins, Colo. on Oct. 12-13, 2004. This "Train-the-Trainer" session will prepare participants to work with growers and feeders to help them implement a quality assurance program in their operations. The cost for the two-day session is $100 and includes three meals. A one-day "Reviewer/Auditor" training will follow on Oct. 14 for those interested in certifying individual producer operations.

AWEX Training ? Industry people interested in being trained and certified as AWEX accredited appraisers in the United States should contact Bob Padula at (320) 269-7973 or padula@starband.net as soon as possible. The training will be held in Denver, Colo., on Oct. 27-28, 2004. These trained appraisers will assist the U.S. wool industry by assigning an internationally recognized description to wool, which better explains the wool and translates the description into an easy-to-read formula.
