Rent a Llama and Be Calma
Burned out Brits recently received an unusual stress-busting suggestion: Rent a llama and be calma. That?s the advice of farmers Tina and Michael O?Donnell, who raise 22 llamas and 20 alpacas on their East Sussex farm.
?Walking with llamas is definitely the new alternative therapy,? exclaimed Tina in an IC Wales interview. ?Just touching a llama has a soothing effect on a stressed out mind.?
Tina says llamas? innate curiosity and idiosyncrasies are what set them apart from animals such as cats and dogs.
?You could spend ages just sitting and watching them because they are so quirky and totally different from any other British animal,? she said.
The O?Donnells offer two llama treks: 40 minutes for ?12 (roughly $19.40 U.S. dollars) per person and three-hour walks for ?40 (roughly $64.80 U.S.) per person. Many of the treks include a stop at a pub, but that?s not the only unusual place the fleecy animals have frequented: several attended Tina and Michael?s wedding, where they served as bridesmaids.
