August 13, 2004 -- On behalf of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO), the American Wool Council announced that the 2005 World Wool Awards deadline has been extended to Oct. 31, 2004, in respect of university semester holidays.

Textile students, trainees and young professionals worldwide are invited to register in the categories of: Fashion & Design; Marketing & Promotion; and Concept, Innovation & Extension. Among the prizes granted to the winners of the three categories are: free participation in the IWTO Annual Wool Congress being held in Australia in 2005; a traineeship in a wool industry company in a wool-growing or wool-producing country; and one-year international exposure via the IWTO Web site.

Additional details and the application are available at World Wool Award Program on the World Wide Web.

The World Wool Award program is in place to support education in the textile sectors and to increase awareness of the unique properties of wool and wool blend products around the world.
