July 16, 2004 -- The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service announced in the July 9, 2004, Federal Register the reopening of the public comment period for submitting information pertinent to the status review of the greater sage-grouse. The status review is to be completed by December 29, 2004, and will provide the basis for a decision on whether the greater sage-grouse should be proposed for listing as a threatened or endangered species.
In an effort to allow all interested parties additional time to submit information, the deadline for submissions has been extended until Friday, July 30, 2004. Comments previously submitted do not need to be resubmitted.
