March 12, 2004 -- According to the most current edition of the annual yearbook produced by Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), agriculture has seen little change. Some of the statistics include:
- Cattle and sheep continue to be the main livestock grown, with 28 million head of cattle and 106 million sheep and lambs.
- Wheat remains the most common crop grown, but there has been a marked increase in the amount of cotton and canola produced.
- Agriculture still provides around 6 percent of Australia?s overall income.
