Animal ID Hearing

Feb. 20, 2004 -- The House Committee on Agriculture will hold a public hearing in Houston, Texas, on March 5, 2004, to review the development of the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s (USDA) animal identification program. Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) has invited the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) to provide testimony at a public hearing before the full committee.

?ASI will have a witness available to testify to the committee about the position of the sheep industry on this important issue,? stated Peter Orwick, executive director for ASI.
