Weekly Fun Fact about Denver / Details on the 2017 ASI Convention
November 18, 2016

Denver really is exactly one-mile high, hence its nickname the Mile High City. To mark the mile high point, the 13th step of the State Capitol Building, a row of orange seats at the Bronco's stadium and a row of purple seats at Coors Stadium signify 5,280 feet above sea level. In Denver's rarified air, golf balls go 10 percent farther. In addition, the Denver skies are bluer because of the elevation where the air has less water vapor than it would at a lower altitude. The sun feels warmer in the thinner atmosphere, but your coffee is cooler, because water boils at 202 degrees.
