Replacement Sheep Reports
July 15, 2016

The American Sheep Industry Association continues to make available tables of data producers can use to report replacement values for breeding sheep. The reports show a fair indemnity value for breeding ewes and rams and are tools for making sheep-loss payments to producers through the livestock indemnity program.

The report can be of value to those in the banking industry or as guidance for producers buying or selling breeding sheep. This information has also been available for use in court cases where breeding sheep are killed due to trucking accidents or dog attacks. Compensation for wolf kills are also calculated from this data.

The information is updated annually and is available at www.sheepusa.org/ResearchEducation_MarketReports_ReplacementSheepReport.
