Unshrinkit - a product seen on Shark Tank - is a patent-pending liquid solution that helps people who have accidentally shrunk a wool garment gently unshrink the item back to its original size.

ASI's own wool consultant, Parvez Mehta, performed an informal evaluation of the product and provided the following review.

The main ingredients in the product are sulfites and surfactants. Sulfites are reducing agents that savor S-S linkages in wool polypeptides allowing the main chains to slide past one another and subsequently form reconnections in a different location.

A home evaluation trial was undertaken using this chemical on two sweaters - one a worsted spun 50/50 wool/acrylic and the other a woolen spun 80/20 wool/nylon. Both items were sold as dry-clean only. The purchased sweaters were washed and tumble dried; repeating the cycle to ensure that both garments were truly felted. The purchased chemical was mixed in a gallon of lukewarm water and the two felted sweaters were soaked in this mixture for 30 minutes. After soaking, the sweaters were rinsed in cold running water and hand squeezed to remove excess water from the garments. The garments were stretched back to their original dimensions and laid flat to dry on towels.
