ASI Nominates Wolf and Stiffler
December 2, 2016

The American Sheep Industry Association responded to requests from the secretary of agriculture for nominations to advisory committees by putting forward Cindy Wolf, DVM, for the USDA Secretary's Advisory Committee on Animal Health and Dennis Stiffler, Ph.D., for the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Animal and Animal Products.

Wolf is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine and is known nationally as a small ruminant specialist. She has devoted the last 30 years of her life to the betterment of animal health through her work and her own sheep and cattle farms. The sheep industry owes much to her leadership and tireless participation in many public and industry deliberations.

Stiffler is very qualified to serve on the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee as he has extensive experience and knowledge of international trade. Trade is important to the sheep industry and a sheep industry representative is critical to promote exports of lamb and wool. Combined with his academic experience in meat production, he is an outstanding candidate for the benefit of the sheep industry, as well as the committee.
