Animal Health Advisory Meeting Scheduled

The Secretary of Agriculture's Advisory Committee on Animal Health will be holding a meeting on Sept. 7-8 in Washington, D.C.

The committee advises the secretary on matters of animal health, including means to prevent, conduct surveillance on, monitor, control or eradicate animal diseases of national importance.

Tentative topics for discussion at the meeting include:
  • emerging diseases implementation guide;
  • emerging disease response;
  • comprehensive integrated animal health surveillance;
  • Veterinary Services stakeholder engagement;
  • foot and mouth disease vaccine availability; and
  • potential agenda items for the 2016-2018 committee term.
