Lamb Board and Sheep Center Nominations Due May 6
April 22, 2016

Both the American Lamb Board and the National Sheep Industry Improvement Center are seeking nominations to fill openings in their 2017 boards. The American Sheep Industry Association is certified to nominate individuals to both boards. Anyone interested in having their name put forward as a nominee should contact ASI to complete and submit the required forms by May 6.

There are four vacancies on the lamb board. Two vacancies for producers: one position for a producer with less than 100 head of lambs and one position for a producer with more than 500 head of lambs; one at-large feeder position; and one first-handler position. For the producer positions, one must be from Region 1 and the other may be from either Region 1 or 2.

Current producer representatives Jim Percival (Ohio) and Diane Peavey (Idaho) are both eligible for re-appointment. Percival represents a producer with less than 100 head of lambs in Region 1 and Peavey is a producer with more than 500 head of lambs in Region 2.

NSIIC has two vacancies - one for a sheep producer and one for a person with expertise in finance and management. Producer Marsha Spykerman (Iowa) is eligible to be re-nominated to her current position but Joan Snyder (N.Y.) has served two consecutive three-year terms and is not eligible to be re-nominated as an expert in finance and management.
