Round 3 Let's Grow Funding Deadline April 18
April 1, 2016

The ASI Let's Grow Committee announced the availability of its third-round of funding for Let's Grow project grants. Grant proposals are due on or before April 18.

Up to $195,000 is available in this round of funding for projects to support, promote and ensure the U.S. sheep industry's future through the development of innovative and sustainable initiatives that increase the productivity, profitability and growth of the American sheep industry. Producers are encouraged to submit proposals that meet the guidelines of the committee as it intends to increase sheep industry production efficiency and profitability in an attempt to compete with not only imported lamb and wool products but with other domestic livestock production, as well.

New target priorities for this round set during the last committee meeting include:
  1. the development of producer groups to increase cooperation between producers with similar production systems;
  2. increase the adoption of out of season lambing to help distribute supply more evenly and thus help decrease the seasonality of lamb production; and
  3. development of business tools to assist sheep ranchers/producers.
The application to apply for funding is available at www.sheepusa.org/Growourflock_Home. For more information, contact ASI Let's Grow Coordinator Alan Culham at alan@sheepusa.org or 517-896-7378.
