Online Tool Helps Farmers Weigh Preliminary Options in Farm Bill
July 3, 2014

The Agricultural and Food Policy Center (AFPC) at Texas A&M University released a preliminary version of a 2014 Farm Bill Decision Aid tool for farmers.

This software was developed solely to provide information so producers could better understand the cash flow implications of their choices under the 2014 Farm Bill. The Decision Aid uses the most current U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) information, and these values will be updated from time to time. As a result, Decision Aid calculations may differ from those of USDA agencies and insurance providers.

This preliminary version of the tool helps farmers gather their information, enter the data and analyze their options. Farmers can simply run the analysis again when the final version is released, after the USDA Farm Service Agency finalizes its interpretations of the 2014 Farm Bill, to assist with making farm-program decisions.
