Hickenlooper Sends Colorado Lamb to Maryland
January 18, 2013

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper grilled lamb chops Thursday in front of the capitol. He also mailed a package of ready-to-cook lamb chops to Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley who won a wager with his Rocky Mountain counterpart Saturday when the Baltimore Ravens stunned the Denver Broncos, winning in a double-overtime playoff game.

The payoff included 12 lamb chops from the Triple M Bar Ranch in Manzanola, Colo. Triple M Bar Ranch owners, David and Mary Miller, joined Hickenlooper for the media event.

Mary sent an email to the American Sheep Industry Association informing the industry about their lamb being sent to Maryland and related that the Governor's office kept saying, "This is not a joke. I am really from the Governor's office."

Hickenlooper would have received a dozen Chesapeake Bay crab cakes if the Broncos had won.
