Maryland Classing School
April 5, 2013

The Maryland Sheep Breeders Association, in conjunction with the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI), is sponsoring an ASI Wool Classing School on June 18-20 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.

The training will help prepare students to meet the Level I requirements of ASI's certified wool classing program. Ron Pope, Ph.D., ASI's raw-wool services consultant, will facilitate the class, which is being held in conjunction with the Maryland-Delaware wool pool on June 19.

Anyone interested in learning how to skirt and class wool is encouraged to attend. Also, fiber basics, production, packaging, labeling and ways to improve wool value will be reviewed. Class size is limited to 25 people and the cost is $175 per person.

To register, contact Linda Shane at lshane@carr.org before May 29.
